Looking for a sophisticated tropical destination for your wedding, close to home?

You have to check out Ocean Key Resort in Key West!

I recently visited this beautiful resort in The Florida Keys and it is amazing!

For those that have not been to the Florida Keys, Key West is the southern most Key, at the end of the Continental U.S. and is famous for its coral reefs and is the former home and hang out of Ernest Hemingway.

Ocean Key Resort is situated at the end of Duval street, the main artery of Key West, overlooking the gorgeous turquoise waters of The Gulf of Mexico. Duval street features numerous restaurants and bars including the famous bar Sloppy Joe’s, shops, and nightlife entertainment galore.

The resort  is conveniently located to many of the tours that are offered in Key West, including glass bottom boats rides, sunset cruises, water sports, as well as tours of the city, you only have to step outside of the front lobby to start your adventure, the resort’s concierge can arrange many of the activities for you and your guests.

You will experience luxury at its finest while staying at Ocean Key, but at the same time, the resort has a laid back vibe indicative of the Key West lifestyle, with well appointed rooms that all feature stunning suites with balconies, most overlook the water.

Speaking of the water, Ocean Key is home to the iconic Sunset Pier featuring outdoor dining with live entertainment most evenings, as well as, the famous sunset celebration where everyone visiting Key West, not only at the resort, but sightseers as well, gather to watch the spectacular set sets.

The pool area that overlooks the water, was a favorite hangout while I was visiting, relaxing in the cabana, enjoying the breeze and taking in the views of boats passing by, all while enjoying food and drinks served up poolside by the staff at Liquid.

Dining choices include the acclaimed Hot Tin Roof for evening dining which offers the finest fresh seafood – I highly recommend the heirloom tomato salad, fresh seared grouper and you must try the guava cheesecake. Liquid offers pool side cocktails, lunch, and afternoon snacks, and the Sunset Pier offers a variety of menu items. Breakfast can be served in room and enjoyed on the balcony or at The Hot Tin Roof.

Photos below are from Hot Tin Roof dining.

Try: The Hemingway Daiquiri

Heirloom Tomato salad is superb!

The fresh catch of the day is mouth watering.

The Guva cheesecake is to die for, so indulge like I did!

The Sunset Pier is great to grab lunch or for an informal dinner while enjoying live music.

One activity that is a must is a visit to the resort’s  world class spa.

Spa Terre can help you and your bridal party relax and have fun before the celebration with a variety of services.

Or have a couple’s massage to share some peace and tranquility together before your big day.

The  spa staff is friendly and knowledgeable and as an added nice touch, you will be offered a  sparking glass of prosecco or other choice of beverage while you await your treatment.

Imagine having your dream destination wedding at Ocean Key Resort in this marvelous setting- your guests will be treated to a memorable stay in this sunny island paradise with so much to see and do.

Weddings of up to 200 can be accommodated with the ocean and sail boats as your backdrop, and is normally staged on the Sunset Pier. The expert staff of Ocean Key will help you plan your wedding, you will have superior menus to choose from prepared by Hot Tin Roof’s Executive Chef, and  a bridal suite to prepare.

As the sun sets, you will dance the night away under the magical starlit sky, with the love of your life.
