“Mawwage. Mawwage is wot bwings us togetha today.”
I’ve been getting requests to do a Princess Bride themed wedding for months! I still remember the first time I read this book, and it’s been one of my favorites ever since. I’m also a sucker for movies with so many quotable lines.
I think what I love about this story is that Buttercup and Westley are the epitome of an unbelievable, cliche fairy tale, but still manage to not seem cheesy. OK, they’re a little cheesy. But in such a great way.
This wedding will be wholeheartedly vintage and rustic and classic. The main colors I think should be taupe and blush. And yes, a little bit cheesy!
OK, this sign from Etsy needs to appear somewhere. Also, I will personally be disappointed if your officiant doesn’t take advantage of the most-quoted wedding officiant of all time. (Note: That statistic is made up by me. But I can’t be far off.)
With this on the back of your chair, you may be mistaken for the Princess of Florin herself, who was very highly rated on the world’s list of the Most Beautiful Woman, so I’d take that as a compliment. Found on Burnett’s Boards.
Looking for some favors for your guests? Fezzik is good for many things, but his rhymes give some great snack ideas! Found on Offbeat Bride. Oh, and one more favor:
This just needs to happen. You can custom order them on Etsy.
This was just supposed to be a cake for a rustic, outdoor wedding from Brides…but I LOVE it for this theme! The writing is like the letters Buttercup received from Westley when he first left, and I love the crown on the top. Or, you can always top it off with this:
Honestly, I really can’t decide which topper I love more. Make your own pick on this one! I found this one on Etsy.
And finally, where should you have this amazing wedding? I found a great spot:
These pictures are from Grey Likes Weddings, and the venue itself is the Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs! The location is beautiful and looks like something that would actually exist in Florin. Buttercup always loved the outdoors!
I’m so excited for the rest of this look. Stay tuned for the next two installments! Make sure to click “like” below, visit us on Facebook and comment with your own opinion!
