How many of you have seen the movie Bridesmaids? If you aren’t raising your hand you need to go rent it on Netflix and watch it. Not only is this movie hilarious but it raises the current issues EVERY bridesmaid goes through wondering what her bridesmaid dress is going to look like, planning the bachelorette party, hosting bridal parties, and much much more! Although, this is a comedy and very extreme it brings up great points about the responsibility of the bridesmaids.

1. Remember…this is the bride’s wedding. Not yours.

It’s hard to put a dress on that the Bride thinks is perfect and you wouldn’t wear with a 10 ft. pole and we know that not every dress is flattering to every person. Try altering your bridesmaid dress if it isn’t a perfect fit. Also, talk to the Bride about the option of different dress designs using the same colors. This is very popular and makes it a convenience for the bridesmaids to find the dress that fits them!

2. The Bachelorette party doesn’t always have to be in Vegas

The say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…but what if your bride doesn’t want that? Find out what SHE wants to do and plan accordingly. She may think a trip to OBX or the river is a perfect way to spend her weekend.

3. Bridal Parties…..

Bridal parties can be a joy or a nightmare. Make sure to keep the stress level down by giving each bridesmaid a project to take over. That way you can eliminate one person from having all the responsibility.

4. Remember the Bride

Obviously, this time is about your bride and although you will go through so much making this day perfect for her, remember….she chose you!! One day you will be in her shoes and will want amazing people by your side. Ask what she needs, how she feels, and anything else to keep her comfortable during the wedding day.

Hope this helps!!!
