Wedding planning is tough; I’m here to help! Last week, I gave you all some inspiration idea to tailor your bridal style to “The Hunger Games” saga. This week, I’ll give you some tips to help style the rest of your bridal party to suit your Girl On Fire motif!
To start, the bridesmaid dress! I love this example from Jordan Fashions. I love that it looks so simple in the front, and then the back is very detailed and exotic – kind of like Katniss herself! The dress also comes in other colors that could fit with a “Hunger Games” wedding, including red and orange. Personally, I like the idea of keeping it black. It stands out without taking attention away from the bride herself! And let’s face it, if Katniss and Peeta got married in “Catching Fire” like they had planned, it’d be a big, formal wedding in the Capitol, so a little more formality is necessary in the looks of everyone in the bridal party! Jordan Fashions can be found at Caryn’s Bridal Formals & Tuxedos Inc., located in Farmville.
If you remember from last week, the bouquet here is the same. I did this because the bridesmaid bouquets should be just a simpler version of the bridal bouquet, so there’s not much point in me finding a completely separate bouquet when the one from the bridal style is still so perfect! As said before, I’d love there to be more red than pink. I’d also recommend keeping in the calla lilies for the bridesmaid version, because the flower is more exotic and adds to that feel. This bouquet is from Palette of Petals in Virginia Beach!
The branch necklace adds a great touch for the dress! Since the front of the gown is relatively simple, it adds that pop. And the branches are perfect to match a “Hunger Games” theme thanks to all the woods. (Plus, if you’ll remember, the bridal style featured a headpiece with branches on it!) This necklace is from Ross-Simons, and you can find this necklace and more from them at their outlet in Potomac Mills!
I absolutely LOVE the shoes for this look. I love the gold to go with a fire-type theme, and the flowers on them slightly resemble calla lilies to match the bouquets! These shoes from Caparros can be found at Macy’s!
While not part of the bridesmaid look, I also added this boutonniere for the groom and groomsmen from SMK Newton Florist in Norfolk. The red and the calla lily match the rest of the flowers and colors. I might opt not to add the amaranthus that’s been added to this specific boutonniere, but I love the simplicity of it!
