The Roanoke Wedding Network will again be hosting Southwest Virginia’s only Wedding Crawl! This year we will again have six venues and more than 60 wedding vendors partnering together to produce the 2nd Annual Roanoke Wedding Crawl on Sunday, April 13th, 2014. All of the proceeds from this event will go toward supporting the programs and services of the Roanoke Valley SPCA! Each of the six participating venues, The Corinthian Ballroom, Metamorphosis, Patrick Henry Ballroom, Taubman Museum of Art, Charter Hall – City Market Building, and Center in the Square, will be setup to look like a real wedding. You’ll see the work first hand from florists, DJ’s and live entertainers, wedding cake bakers, photographers, videographers, bridal shops, and more. Plus we’ll have other ideas for your wedding including photo booths, caricature artists and more. See how different ideas, colors and themes can transform any reception venue. Brides, grooms, and their family and friends will have the opportunity to meet local vendors in a casual reception-type setting. “The Roanoke Wedding Network (RWN) had an overwhelmingly positive response from vendors and from brides after the 2013 Roanoke Wedding Crawl, the question transformed from “Will there be another Crawl?” to an excited “WHEN will the next Crawl be held?” says Vicki Itson, chair of the Roanoke Wedding Network. “Brides commented over and over that it was so much easier to get ideas and feel confident with vendors when they could see them in action as opposed to meeting them at a booth. You actually feel like you are attending a wedding reception while participating in the Roanoke Wedding Crawl!” “In 2013, the Roanoke Wedding Crawl raised over $3,000 for the Roanoke Valley SPCA and we hope to double this amount in 2014. At first you may wonder how an animal shelter and a wedding network wound up collaborating together on an event. However, if you think about it, both of our industries’ missions are to facilitate the start of loving and lasting relationships, as well as, perpetuate the belief that a happily ever after is possible! Whether it be from saying your wedding vows to your beloved in a wedding steeple or signing an adoption contract for a new faithful furry and four legged companion at an animal shelter!” states Mary Renwick, Development Coordinator for the Roanoke Valley SPCA.
