The “Cake & Punch” Reception is making a grand come back, with brides and grooms looking to cut cost; it’s back to the “old school”. In the 1940’s and 1950’s many brides and grooms would marry in the church sanctuary and retire to the basement for the reception with a sheet cake and homemade punch. The modern day version of a cake and punch reception is “dancing & dessert”. There are so many options for desserts at a wedding, from cakes, cupcakes, pies, donuts, to traditional ethnic desserts like baklava. Today’s bride has endless choices when it comes to desserts and having a beautiful reception within their budget.
