Howdy VA babes! Tilley here with this weeks real VA wedding. Every week I hunt for weddings to inspire every bride. From the garden Alice and Wonderland wedding to the eclectic boho wedding, I try to show every type of nuptials! This is my first trendy Richmond wedding it might just be my new favorite of all the weddings I’ve posted about.
Matt and Savannah were married this past May at the Historic Tredegar Iron Works building in Richmond, Virginia.
They choose Tredegar because it stood alone and didn’t need a lot of fluff to make it look beautiful. I’d have to agree…exposed brick is everything in my book.
Since the setting was so beautiful by itself, the flowers were kept to a minimum. Just a few small arrangements for the ceremony and they went all out on the bouquets. I love the succulents and pops of pink!
Savannah choose a lace bodice dress with invisible neckline and tulle skirt…to say I’m obsessed with it would be an understatement.
And her hair is perfection! She is effortlessly beautiful…AND oh so nice. I mean, how sweet of her to give the flower girl a pep talk before the ceremony.
Ok – I don’t know if thats whats actually happening in the pic above, but I couldn’t NOT include it! #cutenessoverload
They didn’t have a first look but Savannah’s grand entrance surly wowed. I’ll take steps over an aisle any day! And look at her smiling at him…so darn cute!
Plus, what an amazing backdrop for the ceremony!
After their first kiss as man and wife it was time for pics!
This trendy picture of the bridal party not smiling is one of my favorites from the day. I went to college in Richmond so trust me when I say they have captured the essence of the city. The skyline, the posing. So cool.
But, I imagine not smiling for this group wasn’t easy! Look at their joy here!
And here! Savannah’s maids look as happy as can be in matching a-line turquoise dresses. Great contrast with the pink and white bouquets!
The men look #adorbs in their suspenders and Matt differentiated himself by adding a vest and jacket.
Now time for the couples photos! I think I’ve included more than usual because they are just so gorgeous and the backdrops are perfect! I mean…who would have guessed a pic with a teal vent in the background would be this cute?!
Meandering under a train? I can’t even. Too. Cute.
Even their feet are cute! We feel ya, Mary Custis Lee.
And then with the river in the background! Y’all. PRAISE HANDS EMOJIS.
Andddd just one more of Savannah being oh so glam. Now party time!
The reception decor was, as Savannah says, “perfectly mismatched.” Instead of a guest book, relatives and friends singed this globe and the tables were decorated with books and knick knacks.
Not only is this cute but also entertaining for any kids in attendance (or adults like myself that love mancala).
So simple and yet so visually satisfying! Take that Sofia’s centerpieces (two pics down).
Just when you thought this couple couldn’t get any cooler. They had chipotle cater. Mic Drop.

This wedding was so unique I love it. Savannah is my cousin and it was great to see the pictures.
Hair and makeup was done by Lydia Brackett (a local of Richmond and an incredible hairstylist).
