For as long as I can remember as a teenager, Kelly and Paul (today’s bride and groom) have been dating. I, Tilley, went to high school with these love birds and they havealways had a way about them…they were fun to be around and you could tell they cared about each other. 9 years later, I am so ecstatic to be sharing their wedding with y’all today.
There may have been a hurricane that day but Kelly looked flawless.
She wore a lace, form fitted gown with a key hole design in the back. I absolutely love it, as well as the color she chose for her bridesmaids! Perfect for a fall wedding.
So much beauty!
Paul looked dapper in a black tux and bow tie.
I love that his groomsmen wore grey suits to contrast his black tux, but they all wore the same bow tie/pocket square combo. This is the first time I have seen this look and I like it a lot.
Their first look was nothing short of adorable.
Paul asking Kelly to spin. SO. CUTE.
What you lookin’ at Paul 😉 ?
Kelly said she was so glad that they did a first look. “Due to the hurricane that was developing outside, I was understandably freaking out and honestly I needed a minute with Paul so that he could tell me it was going to be okay. At that point, I was very thankful that I got to see him before the ceremony.”
I am thankful too because it made for some epic storm pics!
The Half Moone in Norfolk, VA set the stage perfectly…
All the feels and heart eyes, y’all.
The ceremony took place inside in front of these epic windows! How gorgeous is that alter?!
Kelly’s father walked her down the aisle. Look how happy she looks!
With a kiss, they began forever!
As the ceremony space was transformed for dining, the party began with drinks, snacks, and this super cute photo guest book activity! Such a fun way to add a personal touch!
The cranberry color scheme continued into the reception. I love these centerpieces. They are beautiful and tall so they don’t obstruct table conversation (something to take into account future brides).
What an awesome way to display the cupcakes…that alter deserves all the attention because it is GORG.
And how cute is the “&” sign in between their chairs! If I know these two though, I bet they hardly sat and danced till the venue kicked them out 😉 .
Their exit reflected the super stars they are! Congrats to two of the funnest people I know!
From the Bride:
What was your favorite detail of the day? “I loved dancing with everyone. My new husband, family, old friends, new friends, and everyone was up dancing. Every time I looked up I was in the middle of a dance circle again. It was so cool to have everyone that I love in one room.”
What advice would you give to a bride to be? “Try to enjoy your day. It’s such a rush. Our friends Brad and Blair (the ones who introduced us all those years ago) took us aside right before the ceremony and told us to look around every 30 minutes and just take it all in. Try to remember that everyone in the room is there for you, and to truly appreciate all the love around you.”
