It was love at first sight for today’s bride and groom when they met after their freshmen year of college, 7 years ago. Their pink and gold day immediately caught my eye and I, Tilley — your wedding obsessed blogger friend— knew I had to share it!
The groom, Frank, and his groomsmen began the day like most men do, by horsing around 😉 . Frank requested that the couple not do a first look because he wanted to see his bride for the first time coming down the aisle.
So while they played, the ladies got ready.
Kellie chose the most beautiful one shoulder, cascading gown. The details make it so unique and she looks truly radiant!
Her maids wore pink and smiled from ear to ear all day as their friend married the man of her dreams.
Although Kellie and Frank didn’t have a first look, she did have one with her father. Prepare yourself…the back of his tie says, “I loved you first.”
ALL. THE. TEARS. Seriously, waterfalls all over my computer as I type this. Something about father-daughter moments get me every time…
He took her down the aisle and Frank said it brought tears to his eyes.
Speaking of his eyes…they are so pretty! Both he and Kellie have amazing eyes…and y’all know what that means. Pretty-eyed babies! If they want, of course 😉
At St John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, they became man and wife!
Now couple’s portraits…
Ahhhh wedded bliss.
You really can feel the happiness in their smiles. Also, any groom that carries the bouquet for his bride earns big points in my book! Those things get heavy! And how cute is this pic with Frank carrying it?
The reception took place at the Regency and fit Kellie’s pink and gold vision to a T! She also surprised Frank with this Star Wars inspired groom’s cake! Love it!
Cheers to you two!
From the Bride:
What was your favorite detail of the day? “Such a hard question! I loved everything about my day! I can narrow it down to 2… I loved our first dance! We danced to Everything by Michael Buble. We practiced and had professional dance lessons but I love watching the video! I love the tender moments we shared that day. The first look with my father (the whole room was crying), once we were behind closed doors right after the ceremony (Corrin caught 2 photos of us), the father daughter dance (again not a dry eye in the reception!) the sunset pictures we took. I just love looking at all those photos!
My husband said his favorite detail was the constant smile on my face! He said I never once let it go. He could tell I was happy and he was too!
What advice would you give to a bride to be? “My advice would be, it is your day do what you want and do not worry about what anyone else thinks! I also advise brides to be open because somethings are going to go wrong (not like you planned) and there is nothing you can do about it. Don’t let it ruin your day! Everyone is going think it is perfect and you will have something to laugh about later!”
