If you have been following these weekly VA wedding posts then you know that I, Tilley, have been known to get particularly excited about weddings from time to time. Fair warning, today I will exceed my usual levels of excitement. If this is your first time checking out the blog, then prepare yourself 😉 .
Today’s real VA wedding was actually one that I attended back in April of this year. I knew it would be beautiful from the second my husband and I received our invitation (by Caitlin Alderfer). Karie, the bride, is one of the most impressive women I have ever met. Just a tidbit of her greatness… she actually did the calligraphy on every invitation! O.M.G.
Karie began her special day with champs and giggles. You will notice her smile throughout every one of these photos. Absolutely radiant.
She chose one of the most beautiful and unique sweetheart neckline dresses I have ever seen for her big day. The detail was so intricate that I couldn’t help myself from staring when I saw her in person!
With veil on and bouquet in hand, she was ready to see her groom for their first look.
Will is also a pretty remarkable gentleman. The two met in college and really hit it off after studying abroad together.
Y’ALL. HIS FACE! I have to tell you that even a few hours after this photo was taken, I saw him and he described the moment he saw her to me and tears were in his eyes AGAIN! So much love. My heart literally burst then and is again RIGHT NOW.
All the feels continue with their couple’s portraits…
Those Alexandria cherry blossoms are on POINT.
Excuse me while I die over this photo…were y’all aware America had royalty?!
They look like the prince and princess, and I can’t even handle it.
Before the ceremony they also snapped a few pics with the bridal party.
But of course, the pair still only had eyes for each other…swoon.
The ceremony took place in the Old Presbyterian Meeting House and let me just tell you… the building itself was the perfect location! The natural light was perfect and the color pallet was light and airy (you don’t always get that with a ceremony in a church).
Told ya. Perfection.
They said their vows, I cried (big surprise, right?) and they then joined the #married club!
The reception at the Belle Haven Country Club was nothing short of amazing. From their signature cocktails…
…to the decor…
…to the cake, everything was breathtaking! I distinctly remember snapchatting everything, lol.
The pair is truly meant to be, and I could not be happier for them!
