There is nothing quite like a riverfront wedding in the fall! Today’s real Virginia wedding took place this past September at Cousiac Manor and was quite a beauty, if I do say so myself! Who am I? Tilley! Your weekly wedding commentator 😉
This gorgeous gal is Emily. She stunned on her big day in this v-neck lace gown.
Her maids also wore a touch of lace. The pink and navy blue is such a pretty color scheme!
Emily and her groom, Jamie (pictured in the tan vest above), grew up in the same small town. They passed each other occasionally and Emily always had her eye on him. One night, the pair finally hung out and the rest was history. They decided against a first look because Jamie wanted to see her for the first time coming down the aisle and y’all, I am so glad they waited for that moment (spoiler alert, he tears up and I love it)!
After each guest was seated and unplugged, the outdoor ceremony began. I think asking your guests to turn their phones off is an amazing idea. You have paid a photographer to capture the moment, the guest are there to enjoy!
Emily’s father walked her down the aisle and there was not a dry eye to be found.
Which was especially the case for Jamie. SO. SO. SO. SWEET. Crying over here y’all.
With a kiss, their future was sealed!
What a beautiful couple they make!
Ahhhh, gotta love a waterfront kiss.
The back of her dress…praise hands emojis!
Such sweetness.
The party took place inside…
…and the farmhouse tables reflected Emily’s rustic theme perfectly!
I love the touches of pink on the flawless cake!
After an outfit change into this chic little lace number, Emily danced the night away with Jamie by her side.
Then, they walked out to begin the rest of their lives as husband and wife!
From the Bride:
What was your favorite detail from the day? “My favorite detail of the day was our ceremony. My husband isn’t one to show emotions, but everyone could see the love he had for me as I walked down the aisle and vice versa. It truly is a magical moment the minute you say your vows in front of your family and closest friends. We had a beautiful back drop with a nice breeze on the river that made that moment completely surreal.”
What advice would you give a bride to be? “My advice to a bride to be would be that its okay if everything isn’t going to go perfectly. I stressed for 15 months planning our wedding and praying it wouldn’t rain or that I would actually fit into my wedding dress. Looking back now I can hardly remember all the details and the stress I went through to find 10 shepherds hooks. It was so much time, money, and stress but at the end of the day the whole goal is the marry your best friend and to celebrate with friends and family. Remind them that photographers have this magical way of making everything in photos look perfect even though they may not have been. I also want to remind brides to include your husband to be in your wedding planning. Sometimes I would get so wrapped up in planning and forget that our wedding day was just as big of a day for him as it was for me.”
