Rustic barn weddings have been all the rage over the past few years, but I have yet to see one as beautifully detailed at today’s real VA wedding at Clay Hill Garden Farm (and you know I, Tilley, am constantly stalking weddings lol).
Today’s bride is Amanda. She met her husband, Jake, in high school and after building a life together for many years, they made it official by saying “I do” last September. She looked absolutely stunning in her sweetheart neckline gown.
With the maid of honor in pink and the rest of her maids in navy, all of their outfits tied together with one of my favorite accessories…cowboy boots! And how cute is Amanda and Jake’s daughter?!
She was a spitting image of her mom that day!
Jake and his groomsmen all look to be throughly enjoying wearing those suspenders lol. I like how Jake and his best man are wearing pink bow ties and the rest of the groomsmen are in navy bow ties, which mirrors the ladies’ outfits.
Oh, and we couldn’t forget this little stud. Their son is seriously adorable!
The stage was set with old church pews and burlap bows as their family and friends filed in to see the couple unite.
Amanda smiled from ear to ear as she walked down the aisle.
With their children by their side, Jake and Amanda became husband and wife.
I truly don’t think I have ever seen a happier family.
Amanda’s face says it all…*sigh*
They snuck away for their couples photos in the garden. The scenery was perfection.
Speaking of perfect, sunsets don’t get much better than this!
Gorgeous!
Their reception was decorated with the most fun details…
A kids table, complete with coloring pages and crayons…
A candy table with cute to-go bags…
…and the most beautiful chandelier that they danced under all day.
Congrats to the happy couple!
From the Bride:
What was your favorite detail of the day? “I loved every minute of it. But i think my favorite part was walking down and just looking at my husband taking in all of the emotion he was feeling.”
What advice would you give to a bride to be? “Don’t feel like you have to wear white at every wedding function. I did, because hey it was classic! But it is much more fun to mix it up with bold colors. Wear comfortable, fun shoes to express your personality under you wedding dress! Although wedges with bling are beautiful no one sees your shoes and they will probably come off at the reception anyway. I wanted to do some custom vans but didn’t and I regret that! Oh and don’t bustle your dress too soon. I did mine as soon as the reception stated, so you can’t see the full gorgeousness of my dress in the second half of my pictures. Wear a corset if you can. I am tiny so I opted not to BUT remember you will not always be able to pose for your pictures. Pictures will be taken throughout the whole day randomly so no time to suck in and fix your posture! Lastly, have fun and relax! The day goes by so fast and so you need to enjoy it and take in all the LOVE :).”
