It isn’t even December and I have already seen a million engagements on my personal social media and I am pumped! Engagement season is filled with love and excitement about the future so today I, Tilley (your detail-loving-wedding-blogger-friend), am sharing a wedding that took place in June for all of you brides that are considering a Spring/Summer wedding. And get this, it is Alice and Wonderland themed!!!!!
I am a huge fan of themes because it allows the details to be fun yet tailored.
Dianna’s dress was custom made just for her and it seems to fit her bubbly personality just perfectly. Her smile radiates joy in every single photo…it was hard to choose just these few!
The bridesmaids wore different colored pastel dresses but all coordinated because they were made of similar material. The fact that they are all wearing different shoes is so adorable to me. It is whimsical and allows them to show their own personal style.
We all know it takes a real man to rock pink and Garjae and his groomsmen didn’t disappoint. I also love his pocket watch that you can catch a glimpse of the chain adding class to his suit…perfect for the theme.
I think this has to be one of my favorite photos of a bridal party….ever. Its so refreshing that everyone isn’t coupled off. It feels like they all genuinely like each other and are so happy to be a part of the big day.
And I know I don’t even have to mention the balloons because I am sure you are thinking the same thing…how cute?!?!?!!!
This sweet moment with her dad carrying the train of her gorgeous gown gave me goose bumps. What a special photo…
The ceremony and reception took place at the Ash Lawn-Highland which was the home of President James Monroe. I have been there and what an gorgeous venue! Definitely a great choice for the Alice in Wonderland theme.
After they said “I do” the couple was showered in felt pom poms (again, the perfect whimsy element) and they headed off to a reception complete with a donut truck (praise hands emoji)! I love that even the guests dressed with the theme by rocking the sweetest hats! I would love to add this orange one to my wardrobe…just sayin’.
Dinner was served on tables that even the Mad Hatter himself would have approved and then the love birds danced the night away!
From the Bride:
Favorite detail from the day? “Probably our invitations and save the dates. They were a labor of love from start to finish but came out absolutely perfect and really set the tone for guests.”
Advice for a bride to be? “If you are plan on doing a lot of crafts for your wedding, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Creating decor for your wedding is definitely worth the effort, but it is not worth your sanity trying to do it alone. Enlist your friends and family to help. You’ll come to cherish the help once its all over.”
