At the Dover Hall Estate on a beautiful September day, a sweet couple was married.
The groom was Joshua, pictured here in the middle with all his groomsmen. They all wore grey suits and looked very suave if I do say so myself.
His bride, Adrienne, wore a sweetheart neckline mermaid gown and looked absolutely stunning. The pair met on a rooftop in Richmond and after developing a friendship, they had a dreamy and romantic courtship.
The pair decided against a first look to keep with tradition and to spend time with their friends prior to the ceremony. Adrienne said it was really about the ladies in her life before walking down the aisle.
When the time came, Adrienne held her bouquet with her father’s photo on it and glided down the aisle. I really love her flower choice. The pale pink, slate grey, and a splash of eggplant she choose for the day’s colors were perfect for an early fall wedding.
The ceremony was a sweet one and was even more special with their extremely adorable daughter looking on…
Isn’t she the cutest?! Look at that flower crown!
They began a new chapter that day as man and wife.
Now a few pics of the happy couple…
Flawless!
Looking through all these photos from beginning to end, you really can feel the bond and connection between these two love birds. So romantic, it gives me chills!
Hands down, this my favorite photo of the day. What a beautiful family!
This photo of the bridal party is definitely a close second…They are chic, glamorous and gorgeous! I love how it is a photo of a bunch of people but Adrienne still glows from the middle!
The reception took place inside the Dover Hall and Adrienne said it was filled with magical moments. They shared their first dance as husband and wife, their friend groups came together, and Adrienne even had a recorded message during the reception in her father’s honor. There was not a dry eye in the room!
Congratulations Adrienne and Joshua!
From the Bride:
What was your favorite detail of the day? “There were so many details that I loved!! My favorite detail I planned ahead with my DJ was my Daddy Daughter tribute. My father is deceased and I wanted to ensure that I honored him in the most special way. He and I were extremely close and even in his absence I feel his presence. It was important to me that he was included throughout my ceremony. I recorded a letter that I wrote to him and played it that evening. I then danced with my Uncles and Brother in law that were present to Chrissette Michelle’s song “My Joy”….My favorite unplanned detail was the seamless connecting of our friends and families. Our circles really blended and had a great time together.”
What advice would you give to a bride to be? “Open, direct, and clear communication. You can never over communicate your desires when it comes to your wedding day. Ensure that it is exactly how you and your fiancé envision it to be and remember that the real work happens in the planning. In all things, enjoy your special day AND your lifelong union together. Love one another, be gentle and kind. Always be open, direct, and clear when communicating with your spouse, and never forget that as husband and wife – you are ALWAYS on the same team.”
