You know how some people always have some sort of goal they’d like to accomplish for the summer? Well, I’m one of those people and my goal this summer was to start and finish reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen for the first time. Then do a Style Inspiration on it.
Of course, it was a great book. I was then very pleasantly surprised to learn that the movie follows the book pretty closely after I watched it. (Nope, I’d never even seen the movie before).
Well here is my summer goal: a gorgeously antique/book themed wedding of Pride and Prejudice, with the main colors being gold and light blue. I’m definitely thinking this will need to be outdoors and a tea party absolutely has to happen!
I LOVE this entire setup found on Style Me Pretty! Of course books have to make an appearance in this wedding. The lace is perfect for a movie set in the 1800’s. Oh, and the trunks are amazing for this theme considering how often all of the sisters in the book/movie travel around. I absolutely adore that backdrop of sheer white floating in the background as well! Make sure to take advantage of that photo op, and make sure your photographer gets some great sunset shots just like Elizabeth and Darcy!
These book fans from Etsy are so cute and will look great at an outdoor tea party! String a few up on some nearby trees and watch your guests marvel at how nice of a touch they are! The person who makes them says all of the books come from thrift stores as well, which for some reason in my mind just makes them better. I may have a thrifting problem…
You can’t have a tea party without antique teacups! I love this one from Etsy. The pattern and colors are perfect and will look great against some book centerpieces at an outdoor venue! Another option is to scour your local thrift stores and get some mix and match teacups and saucers! I love the mixmatched look, and it will be great for this theme!
And where to put your tea? Put a couple of these tea boxes from Bed Bath and Beyond around and let your guests pick and choose. Make sure to put an array of caffeinated and non-caffeinated, and add at least two flavored options so everyone can find something they enjoy.
I found this cake on Buzzfeed and I absolutely love it! Your guests will be Instagramming this all night. Change the color pink to blue, and I’d recommend taking out the mice even though I think they are adorable. I even love the rose petals scattered around the cake! You definitely can’t lose with this one.
