Lord of the Rings Style Inspiration – Ceremony and Reception

All right, nerdy brides! I’ve done Harry Potter, I’ve done Game of Thrones…it’s time to pay tribute to the one ring that ruled them all.

I’ll admit, I had never seen these movies until a few years ago. My guy found out about this travesty and made me sit and watch all three. I now own them all and watch them pretty periodically. So why wouldn’t I want to style a wedding after a tale full of adventure, love, friendship and second breakfasts? A LOTR wedding would feature a lot of green with some brown and white accents to create a very woodsy theme.

FIrst of all, this sign from Etsy needs to exist somewhere in your wedding. My suggestion: your sweetheart/head table. Arwen made the ultimate sacrifice for Aragorn; she decided to become mortal so the pair could be together. Her father didn’t like it, but let’s be honest… how many fathers in movies approve of the man their daughter wants to be with? Etsy has tons of similar signs with quotes from Lord of the Rings, so I encourage you to take advantage of that opportunity and post them everywhere! This one is too perfect for a wedding!

First toast as bride and groom? Sip your champagne from some gorgeous flutes from Etsy with Elvish written all over them. I regret to inform you that I’m not quite enough of a fan to learn the Elvish language (hey, I’m still struggling with Spanish), so I’ll admit I can’t read them. However, the Etsy seller has graciously provided us with the translation! “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,” and “One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.” J.R.R. Tolkien really outdid himself with the Elvish language. And these flutes are the perfect tribute!

Need some cocktail napkins? Try these from For Your Party! The tagline is perfect for a wedding and for both Bilbo and Frodo’s adventures. Your guests will love the special touch you thought of for them.

Oh, and for the cake, we didn’t disappoint.

LOVE this cake! I found it on Between the Pages blog. The detail is so incredible. The piece from Arwen’s necklace and the arch on the top are easily my favorite parts. Your guests will be Instagramming this all night long!

For this wedding, check out your outdoor venues and find the perfect garden venue in your area! Decorate with lots of white flowers and you’ll do it perfectly! Come back next week for the bridal party look, and make sure to “like” below and let us know what you think in the comments!
