Concern of the Week: My cake is MELTING!

photo 1-1

Attention all Brides!! It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for. At our last Bridal Show in Culpeper we asked for your input on what you are concerned about for your wedding. Our Brides gave us so many things to blog about and we are going to tackle ALL of your concerns.

One of your first concerns that the Virginia Bride Staff consulted about was this….

“I am having a mid-summer wedding and I am afraid that my cake is going to melt”

There are a few solutions to this. One way to make sure this doesn’t happen is to be prepared. If you know that you have cakes, pies or any other pastries then you need to make sure that they are stored properly. If you are having an indoor reception this is an easy thing to coordinate. Most reception halls have a kitchen and cooled storage where you could store your desserts until you are ready to have the reception.

If you are having an outdoor reception you probably need to look into a place to have your cake stored until the reception. Check the weather to see how hot it is going to be outside. You may need to have your cake brought out to you when you are ready to serve it. Although the guests will not be able to take in the detail of your cake for an extended amount of time you will not have to worry about a ruined cake. All in all, this is something that can be planned for. Just make sure you have proper storage and you are aware of the heat.

We will keep posting about your concerns each week! I’ll talk to ya’ll soon
