Happy Friday, Whovian brides! I’m excited for everyone to see what I have in store for you this week! This week is the debut of the bridal style for a Doctor Who wedding!
First, the dress. This beauty, from Mira Zwillinger, came after a long, hard search for the perfect dress. I spent a few days looking only at short dresses after being convinced it was perfect, but then I randomly came across this one, and it was simply the dress. Sort of like that feeling you had (or are about to have!) when shopping for your own dress — you just know. The bow in the back matches with the bridal party dresses, and goes with Matt Smith’s overall style during his tenure as the Eleventh Doctor. And the front (which you can see on the website!) is classy and gorgeous, perfect for such an iconic theme!
The watch, from Technabob, is a cute accessory that most brides don’t rock on their wedding day, but works so perfectly with these theme, even if you disregard that the watch itself is themed! What better way to honor a Timelord than with the accessory that tells you the time?
The bouquet is the same from the bridal party. I still like using roses for Rose, one of the Doctor’s companions. And the dark colors bring about the same colors used in the show — lots of dark nights, especially when traveling in the TARDIS! I found this bouquet on Bride in Bloom.
I think these shoes, from Instructables, are adorable! It has the TARDIS, the bow, and your something cute! (OK, that’s not a thing. But it should be. Either way, it helps with your something blue!). The bow is part of the shoe, not the sock, but I love the sock that this bride chose to wear with these! Feel free to kick your feet up
What Whovian hasn’t wanted a sonic screwdriver? On your wedding day, rock them on your ears! These earrings are from Etsy. Besides the fact that they are, in fact, sonic screwdrivers, the colors at the end match our wedding colors of TARDIS blue and silver! From far away, they’ll look like normal dangle earrings, but those up close to you will catch a glimpse of your theme and love your for it!
Last, a picture of Billie Piper, who played companion Rose Tyler. I wanted to add this picture for her hairstyle as a suggestion. Besides the fact that a companion is rocking those gorgeous curls, what got me was that the first word I thought of when I saw this style was “timeless.” Timelords, time traveling…you get where I’m going here! I found this picture on Pinterest without a link to the original source.
I hope you all loved this style! I can’t wait to start a new one next week! If you have suggestions or comments, talk to us below and let us know what you think! Would you do a Doctor Who wedding? Would you try any of these looks? I’ll be back next Friday, beautiful brides!
