Fresh Baked is a couture cake studio in Roanoke, Virginia specializing in custom cake creations for all events. All cakes are made with the finest ingredients and the utmost care, to ensure your cake not only looks the best but also tastes great! Owner, Sarah Blanchard is a Baking & Pastry Arts graduate of Johnson & Wales University. In 2014 Sarah officially founded Fresh Baked and she is excited to bring a fresh perspective to weddings in the Roanoke Valley. She chose the name “Fresh Baked” to represent her commitment to small batch, never frozen cakes, made with local ingredients. She uses an old-fashioned family cake recipe combined with a Swiss Meringue buttercream to create cakes that are not only beautiful but also delicious.
Although she enjoys creating all types of celebration cakes, wedding cakes are her true passion. She loves meeting couples and hearing about all of their wedding plans, not just their cake dreams. Sarah enjoys every aspect of the wedding cake process, from the initial one-on-one meeting to delivering the final product. She strives to create perfect smooth buttercream and flawless fondant covered cakes for every wedding and special event. Sarah’s work has been featured in wedding publications including Virginia Bride Magazine, Trendy Bride, Ruffled Magazine, The Laker Magazine and Wedding Chicks. Sarah has also had the honor of creating custom cakes for celebrities including Dierk’s Bentley and Randy Houser.
